Mediation
Minnesota law requires mediation for almost every civil dispute. There are a few exceptions, but generally, the court will not hear your case unless you have gone through the process of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) first.
Mediation, the most frequently used form of ADR, involves negotiation facilitated by a neutral third-party. The mediator's job is to help the parties arrive at a resolution that both parties can accept.
If the parties reach a mediated settlement agreement, it is legally binding on both parties.
Mediation is often a faster and more cost-effective solution to resolving civil disputes than traditional litigation. However, if a reasonable settlement cannot be achieved, our lawyers are more than prepared to protect your rights and interests in the courtroom.
